In the matter of equipment the Faculty of Engineering

is in need within the next few months of the apparatus detailed in the enclosure hereto. The University funds admit only of an expenditure of £5,000 upon equipment for the Faculty. An addition- -al endowment of not less than £10,000 is required to cover the necessary expenditure in connection with the teaching of Mechanic- -al Civil and Electrical Engineering unless gifts of apparatus from those interested in engineering in the Far East are forth- -cming. For such gifts from British firms the University will be very grateful. If other forms of Engineering are added to the

2. In the Medical Faculty there is great need of more Lecturers who can devote the whole of their time to teaching. At the present time the University is dependent to a great extent upor the assistance generously given by the Local Practitioners in private practice in lecturing for small fees. Any donations in aid of the Endowment Fund to be devoted to the engagement of a Lecturer and a Demonstrator in Anatomy would at the present time be most acceptable. A capital sum of £10,000 would meet present require-

-ments.
